Director, Consolidation & External Reporting, International Location: Weybridge THE ROLE: The Director of Consolidation & Reporting plays a pivotal leadership role in managing the accurate and timely consolidation of financial results for the International Group, operating across multiple jurisdictions. This role ensures compliance with US GAAP / IFRS, coordinates external audit processes, leads preparation of external stakeholder reporting / consolidated statutory accounts, and enhances the integrity of financial reporting systems. The role is instrumental in providing financial transparency for stakeholders, including executive leadership, investors, and regulators. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead the financial consolidation process across 100 entities in multiple currencies under US GAAP • Oversee timely production of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements. • Ensure compliance with US GAAP (and IFRS, where applicable), local GAAP reconciliations, and evolving regulatory requirements. • Manage Group audit process including coordination with external auditors and internal finance teams. • Deliver the Annual Report, interim financials, and other statutory disclosures. • Own and optimize the group consolidation / reporting / accounting systems (including Cognos Controller, Workiva, Trirega) and reporting processes. • Partner with FP&A, Tax and Treasury to provide high-quality, consistent reporting. • Lead process improvement and system automation initiatives to enhance reporting speed and accuracy. • Maintain and update the Group accounting policies manual, ensuring consistent application globally. • Provide technical accounting guidance and support on M&A, disposals or restructuring. • Ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in line with SOX or equivalent frameworks. EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL: • Extensive experience in group accounting, consolidation, and reporting for large, global businesses. • Demonstrated experience managing complex multi-entity consolidations and statutory reporting processes. • Operating and developing Group consolidation and Reporting systems (particularly Cognos Controller, IBM Planning & Analytics and Workiva) • Prior experience working with Big 4 auditors. • Leadership in preparing financials under US GAAP and IFRS. • Proven track record in managing multi-location finance teams. • Proficient in managing complex programmes / projects. DESIRABLE: • Operating with the retail or consumer goods sector. • Exposure to public company reporting and investor communications. • Finance transformation, system implementations, or global ERP integrations. • ESG reporting requirements SKILLS ESSENTIAL: • Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS. • Strong command of consolidation systems and financial reporting software (particularly Cognos Controller, IBM Planning & Analytics and Workiva) • High level of financial acumen and attention to detail. • Project management / Project governance • Ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and operate in a matrixed, global organization. • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. DESIRABLE: • Familiarity with ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks. • Knowledge of tax reporting, treasury, and cash flow analysis. • Language skills (e.g. German, Spanish) for international coordination.
