Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school, with over 200 staff and approximately 1,800 students, is seeking a Librarian and Learning Centre Coordinator to work closely with the Literacy Lead and subject leaders to support students' literacy development and foster a love of reading throughout the school.
This role involves working 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, with an annual pro-rata salary of GBP 20,443 to GBP 22,495 (pay award pending).
As Librarian and Learning Centre Coordinator, you will:
1. Organise and manage the daily running of the Learning Centre and library resources, including categorising and organising the library stock.
2. Collaborate with staff and students to create an engaging and inspiring Learning Centre.
3. Work with subject leaders to ensure the library is used frequently and relevant to all curriculum areas.
4. Support the Literacy Lead in initiatives aimed at closing the reading age gap.
5. Assist with organising events to motivate and encourage reading and independent learning.
6. Supervise students studying in the Learning Centre and attending homework club after school.
Candidate requirements include:
* A good standard of education, such as A-level or above (or equivalent).
