Clients are predominantly employers, spanning sectors such as tech, manufacturing (including automotive), financial services, social housing, construction, and the public sector. The team also works with international businesses and overseas law firms on cross‑border employment issues.
About the Role
As a Senior Associate, you will work closely with a diverse employer client base-from major corporates and public bodies to fast‑growing tech start‑ups. You will advise on a wide range of employment law matters including:
1. Providing strategic, commercially-focused advice
2. Drafting employment documentation service agreements, handbooks, consultancy agreements)
3. Advising on legislative developments and their impact
4. Supporting on TUPE, redundancies, restructures, and corporate transactions
5. Handling employment tribunal and civil court litigation, including discrimination and business protection disputes
6. Advising on ER matters such as grievances, whistleblowing, working time and agency worker issues
7. Advising on trade union matters and industrial relations
8. Conducting workplace investigations
9. Managing employment‑related data protection issues, including DSARs
10. Delivering training to clients
11. Contributing to business development, speaking engagements, and article writing
About You
You will be a qualified Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE and:
12. Demonstrable experience in a respected employment law team
13. Strong understanding of core employment legislation
14. Experience building and maintaining client relationships
15. Participation in client development and networking activities
16. Awareness of financial management in legal practice
17. Experience supporting senior lawyers with BD and marketing initiatives
18. Experience writing articles or delivering seminars
19. Ability to understand the commercial impact of employment law on organisations
