Job Title: Practice Supervisor - Children's Social Work Team
Location: Grantham
Hourly Rate: £38 per hour
Duration: Until January 2025

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Practice Supervisor to join our team on a temporary basis until January 2025. The Practice Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing and supporting social work practice within the team, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and promoting best practice standards in family and children assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide supervision and support to social workers within the team, including case consultation, reflective practice, and professional development.
2. Monitor and review the quality of social work practice, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, local policies, and best practice guidelines.
3. Facilitate case discussions, team meetings, and reflective practice sessions to promote learning, collaboration, and effective decision-making.
4. Conduct case audits and quality assurance checks to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to address deficiencies.
5. Act as a point of contact for complex cases, providing guidance, advice, and expertise to social workers in managing challenging situations.
6. Liaise with partner agencies, including health professionals, education providers, and legal services, to coordinate multi-disciplinary support for children and families.
7. Contribute to the recruitment, induction, and training of social work staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
9. Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
10. Registered with Social Work England.
11. Substantial experience working as a social worker within children's services, with a focus on family and children assessment.
12. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, providing guidance and support to social work staff.
13. Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory regulations, and best practice standards in social work.
14. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
15. Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions.
16. Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
