Team Manager - Social Care
As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of locality-based qualified and unqualified Social Care staff delivering a range of services to safeguard vulnerable children and promote positive outcomes for young people in need and children looked after.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Managing the staff team and the associated financial and physical resources efficiently, ensuring high standards of professional practice and effective use of the Service’s information systems.
2. Demonstrating leadership and motivational skills, ensuring good communication within the division, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and service user focus that delivers positive outcomes for children and adults.
3. Ensuring timely handling of referrals, appropriate work allocation, completed assessments, and progress of case plans to achieve positive outcomes and consistency for children and their families.
4. Facilitating, coordinating, and recording interagency strategy discussions and initiating child protection investigations when necessary.
5. Managing staff working in isolation or on home visits, ensuring support measures are in place to investigate safeguarding concerns.
6. Providing management cover for other teams within the service as needed.
7. Taking reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
Requirements:
* Dip SW/CQSW or equivalent qualification.
* Knowledge of current social work legislation, issues, and good practices concerning children and families.
* Substantial experience as a Social Care Practitioner with Children & Families in a multicultural environment.
* Ability to manage budgets and departmental resources effectively.
* Proficiency in using information technology as a management tool, in compliance with data protection laws.
* Ability to work effectively with service users and various agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children.
* Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months, preferably on the update service.
