Temporary Agency Support Worker – Brighton We are urgently seeking Temporary Support Workers to cover shifts at a high-support hostel for single homeless adults with complex needs. The service provides a safe, structured, and psychologically informed environment for individuals who may be vulnerable, entrenched, and facing multiple disadvantages, including homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health challenges. You will play a vital role in supporting residents to build stability, enhance self-esteem, and begin addressing the root causes of their homelessness. Our client-centred approach empowers individuals to make positive changes and progress towards more independent living. Key Responsibilities Provide practical and emotional support to residents on a daily basis Develop positive, professional relationships that encourage engagement Support individuals with complex needs, including substance misuse and mental health issues Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment Assist with support planning, risk management, and accurate record keeping Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals Your Role as a Support Worker As a Temporary Support Worker, your core responsibilities will include: Delivering therapeutic, relationship-based care aligned with the home’s ethos Building trusting, genuine relationships that foster emotional, social, and educational development Providing care in accordance with individual support plans, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and progress Engaging residents in activities that promote learning, enjoyment, and emotional wellbeing Maintaining professional boundaries while managing challenging or unpredictable behaviour Working collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this role.
