We are looking for a Corrosion Engineer to join our Asset Management Consulting team in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. The Asset Management Consulting team helps our clients to run their assets safely and cost effectively with a risk-based approach to integrity and maintenance planning. We operate in the oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, renewables, and power generation sectors.
In the role of Corrosion Engineer, you will:
* Review and analyse plant operational, process, inspection, and environmental data to identify corrosion loops, active and potential damage mechanisms and assign corrosion rates for piping components and equipment as part of the damage mechanism review assessment.
* Present corrosion studies at client sites and provide solutions for corrosion control, material selection, fabrication, inspection, and other risk mitigation strategies for assets, as required.
* Demonstrate understanding of API 571, API 580, API 581, NACE MR0103, MR0175, SP0296 and other key standards, knowledge of corrosion and damage mechanisms, creating integrity operating windows and writing technical reports and documents.
* Support business development activities like assisting with proposal preparation/cost estimations, assessing/recommending scope, cost, and time, resources for the work to be undertaken and be willing to participate in technical conferences, delivering presentations and writing technical papers.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills and contribute to internal/external client management by taking feedback, delivering projects accurately and effectively managing client and Vysus Group relationships.
To be successful in the role of Corrosion Engineer we are looking for you to have the following:
* At a minimum, education to bachelor's degree level in materials engineering, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering or any other suitable discipline.
* Sufficient relevant previous working experience to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding within your discipline.
* Relevant specialist requirements, knowledge, and application.
* Knowledge of key industry tools and software.
* High proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
* Be an effective and persuasive communicator with strengths in both written and face-to-face communication.
* Be willing and able to travel to client sites.
* Being a qualified member of other recognised professional bodies, such as NACE, API, etc. is considered a plus/bonus – not a requisite.
* Professional level (written & spoken) in English language.
