NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest health systems in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 staff across clinical and non‑clinical roles. We deliver hospital, primary, community and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, and to a larger population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seeking HCPC‑registered Specialist Biomedical Scientists (Band 6) for full‑time positions (36 hours per week) on a fixed‑term contract. These roles will support laboratory operations during the rollout of new equipment as part of the Laboratories Managed Service Contract (MSC).
The MSC involves a large‑scale refresh of laboratory equipment across multiple disciplines and acute hospital sites. The project will run for one year, and these posts are key to its successful delivery.
Successful candidates will work individually and as a team to analyse and validate a broad range of specialist and routine laboratory diagnostic investigations, using a range of scientific measurements and technical procedures on patient samples.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Biomedical Scientists or current students expecting to graduate in 2026 to join the Laboratory Medicine Department within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
