Long Bennington Medical Centre has an exciting opportunityfor an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our dynamic, supportive,and progressive team working 4 to 6 sessions per week.

Long Bennington Medical Centre is a well-established GP-led dispensingdoctors practice located in the rural village of Long Bennington on theborder of Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire. We are situated ina purpose-built medical centre and proud to be part of a forward-thinkingPrimary Care Network with numerous supportive ARRs roles.

Our modern partnership works collaboratively alongside afocused and dedicated team to deliver a high standard of patient care,something that we are proud of. We are committed to a supportive, inclusive,and progressive working environment where staff can thrive both personally andprofessionally.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision ofmedical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standardof clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. The post-holder willadhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to theeffective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining apositive, collaborative working relationship within our multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities ofthe Salaried GP role. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out othertasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffinglevels:

* The delivery of highly effectivemedical care to the entitled population
* The provision of services commensuratewith the GMS contract
* Generic prescribing adhering to localand national guidance
* Effective management of long-termconditions
* Processing of administration in atimely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and otherassociated administrative tasks
* Maintain accurate clinical records inconjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
* Working collaboratively, accepting anequal share of the practice workload
* Adhere to best practice recommended throughclinical guidelines and the audit process
* Contribute to the successfulimplementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within thepractice
* Understand the organisations and localsafeguarding policies and procedures
* Partake in meetings and case conferencesregarding safeguarding matters when requested
* Attend and/or complete regular trainingcommensurate with their role in accordance with their individual terms ofreference and practice policy
* Implementing professional safeguarding responsibilities whichincludes continual professional development in safeguarding
* Preventing, Identifying and Responding to abuse and neglect, includingsupporting victims and survivors of abuse
* Have governance systems and processes in place to supportsafeguarding, and
* Work collaboratively with other health colleagues, safeguardingpartners and agencies
* Accept delegated responsibility for aspecific area (or areas)
* Attend and contribute effectively topractice meetings
* Contribute effectively to thedevelopment and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance andtraining
* Ensure compliance with the appraisalprocess
* Prepare and complete the revalidationprocess
* Commit to self-learning and instil anethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
* Support the Partners and PracticeManager in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendationsto enhance income and reduce expenditure
* Review and adhere to practiceprotocols and policies at all times
* Encourage collaborative working,liaising with all the team and ARR's roles regularly, promoting a culture of continuousimprovement at all times

In addition to the primary responsibilities,the Salaried GP may be requested to:

* Participate in practice audits andundertake at least one audit lead annually
* Participate in local initiatives toenhance service delivery and patient care
* Participate in thereview of significant events and learning events applying a structured rootcause analysis (RCA) approach


Person Specification


Knowledge and Skills

* Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
* Clear, polite telephone manner
* Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
* Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
* Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Problem solving & analytical skills
* Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
* Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes
* Experience with clinical risk management


Qualifications

* To be successfully considered for the role, the applicant must:
* Hold a Medical Degree
* MRCGP
* General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
* Be GMC registered
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* Be registered under the primary medical performers list


Experience

* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of continued professional development
* Experience of QOF and clinical audits
* Experience of medicines management
* General understanding of the GMS contract

£11,500 to £13,500 a session£11.5k to £13.5k per session depending on experience
