The post-holder will need to demonstrate strong leadership, communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills, have the ability to operate within a complex environment, be able to brief senior leaders clearly and confidently, and lead a team to deliver a high-quality professional service.
The post holders will play a key role in influencing and driving forward a variety of activities to support data protection, information management and information rights in DWP.
The role will be leading two strands of the DPO Team which are the Business Management and Central Freedom of Information (CFoI) Teams:
Responsibilities
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure needs are identified.
* Leading a team to achieve its team objectives.
* Building a culture of continuous improvement
* Providing expert advice and guidance to the business on data protection, information management and FoI.
* Providing a Business Management function for the DPO Team
* Acting as first point of contact with citizens, DWP employees and the ICO around data protection and FoI
* Providing strategic direction to both Teams and cultivating an environment of continuous improvement.
