We are looking for motivated and driven individuals to work positively with youth work teams in a community setting to engage effectively with young people in their own communities and to contribute towards the learning and development of young people and youth work colleagues using a range of educational practices and approaches
The successful candidate will lead a small team of youth workers to plan, organise and evaluate general youth work activities such as arts and crafts sessions, sports events, team challenges, group discussions and project work and more specific activities such as Youth Achievement Award projects and residential learning experiences. The Person
Have significant experience in a youth worker setting
Have experience of developing learning and education programmes with young people (Deliver results – See ‘How We work Matters’ Framework) Be able to motivate young people and encourage participation.
Have good organisational skills an can plan a programme around their needs.
Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service.
Can act as a positive role model to young people.
Be a good timekeeper and be reliable and be prepared to work flexibly.
Must have or be able to work towards the required qualification SVQ2 or SVQ3 Youth Work / PDA Youth Work.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
