Our client is a well-established business with decades of experience in developing innovative technologies and specialised equipment for use in scientific, industrial, and commercial applications.
This role focuses on the design, development, and evaluation of advanced sensor technologies and related instrumentation. It is well-suited to individuals with a background or experience in a STEM field who are enthusiastic about applying their knowledge and curiosity to practical scientific and technological challenges.
The Role:
Practical, laboratory-based work involving the safe handling of materials and use of specialist equipment
Conducting experiments and evaluating the performance of technical components and systems
Carrying out longer-term testing to assess reliability and durability
Recording and monitoring results through both manual methods and data-logging tools
Key Skills and Experience:
Qualification at degree or HND level in a STEM-related discipline, or equivalent knowledge gained through training and/or experience
Familiarity with laboratory health and safety practices, including carrying out risk assessments
Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment
Competence with standard software tools (e.g., Word, Excel; familiarity with data analysis packages such as MiniTab or JMP is desirable)
A basic knowledge of electronics; experience with Arduino controllers or programming in Python would be beneficial
