Vocational Trainer – Health and Social Care – North Essex

£29,468 to £34,668 per annum (full time equivalent)
Location: Colchester, Essex
Working Style: Fixed-base worker

This role is part-time, working 18.5 hours per week with a pro‑rata salary up to £17,334 per annum. The successful candidate will deliver training throughout North Essex.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality, inclusive and engaging teaching, learning and assessment within a designated vocational area, both in person and online.
* Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials that reflect sector practice, employer expectations and awarding body criteria.
* Design and adapt delivery to meet individual learning needs and embed English, maths, digital and employability skills where appropriate.
* Use diagnostic and formative assessment tools to track progress, provide constructive feedback and support improvement for successful learner outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with quality assurance, safeguarding and Prevent; promote equality of opportunity and wellbeing across all aspects of service delivery; maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress and achievement using ACL‑approved systems.
Qualifications
* Educated to RQF Level 4 or above in a relevant vocational area (or equivalent professional experience).
* Occupationally competent in delivering qualifications up to and including Level 5.
* Evidence of continuing professional development and up‑to‑date occupational expertise in a relevant vocational field.
* Proven experience in teaching, training or assessing adults or apprentices, preferably in FE or work‑based learning.
* Strong planning, organisational and communication skills with the ability to adapt delivery for diverse learner needs.
* Competent in the use of e‑learning platforms, digital tools and online delivery methods.
* Commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
