Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PMLD Teacher to join a supportive and well-resourced SEND secondary school in the heart of Newham from September 2025 until July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher with a strong background in working with secondary-aged pupils who have profound and multiple learning difficulties.
About the Role:
Full-time class teacher role within a specialist PMLD setting.
Planning and delivering highly personalised and multi-sensory learning programmes.
Working closely with a team of experienced teaching assistants and therapists.
Creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that supports holistic development.
Collaborating with families, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be a qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) with substantial experience in PMLD or complex needs.
Have an in-depth understanding of PMLD pedagogy, communication approaches (e.g., PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction), and sensory integration.
Be creative, resilient, and able to differentiate learning for pupils with a wide range of abilities and medical needs.
Have a commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding children and young people.
