Senior Health and Safety Co-Ordinator - Batley - £40,000
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our manufacturing site in Batley as a Senior Health and Safety Co-Ordinator. We’re looking for a confident and proactive individual to support our business by ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance across the site.
You’ll play a key role in providing the business and its employees with the necessary health and safety information, advice, and training required to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Health & Safety department
* Ensure all safety standards, policies, and procedures are implemented and adhered to in line with legislation
* Develop, update and maintain Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
* Manage incident and accident investigations, including near-miss reporting
* Audit and manage the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Deliver site inductions for new starters and manage EH&S committee meetings
* Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and audits
* Maintain accurate training records, reports, and safety documentation
* Provide timely information to support the company’s claims handling process
* Support and advise management and employees on H&S matters to drive a positive safety culture
* Assist with contractor control and contribute to Lean manufacturing and factory KPI management
About You:
* GradIOSH or above (essential)
* Degree (or equivalent level of education)
* Proven experience driving behavioural safety change in a manufacturing environment
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage others
* Confident working independently, prioritising workloads, and taking ownership of H&S initiatives
