Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP, you will manage a varied caseload, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a broad range of health needs in a primary care setting. This includes a mix of face-to-face and remote consultations, clinical decision-making, prescribing, and maintaining accurate patient records, while working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities also include supporting a small 22-bed care home, undertaking PA reviews, and contributing to education and training within the practice. You will take part in practice meetings and clinical discussions, with opportunities to support service improvement and take a lead role in areas such as Adult or Child Safeguarding.

Our surgery is a town centre practice serving approximately 9000 patients, offering a well-connected and convenient location with excellent access to the M25 and M1, as well as overground and underground rail links. Watford provides an attractive place to work and live, with local amenities including Cassiobury Park, highly regarded primary and secondary schools, and the Harlequin Shopping Centre.
We have a strong multidisciplinary team comprising GPs, Physician Associates, Clinical Pharmacist, First Contact Physiotherapist, Social Prescribers, a nursing team, and experienced administrative and reception staff. We use the EMIS clinical system, with workflow supported by care coordinators and a dedicated referrals team to help manage workload efficiently. On-site parking is available for both staff and patients.

Clinical Duties
* Provide general medical services to registered patients, including:
* Routine, urgent, and same-day appointments
* Telephone and online consultations
* Home visits where required
* Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions
* Prescribe medications safely and appropriately
* Refer patients to secondary care and community services as needed
* Review and act on test results, correspondence, and clinical tasks
* Participate in chronic disease management and health promotion
* Contribute to safeguarding adults and children in line with local policies
* Clinical support Physician Associates and other healthcare professionals in the practice.
Administrative Duties
* Process clinical correspondence and results in a timely manner
* Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement activities
Practice & Team Working
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and the wider MDT
* Participate in practice meetings and training sessions
* Support the training and supervision of students, trainees, or allied staff where appropriate
* Contribute to the development of practice services and pathways
Governance & Professional Development
* Comply with GMC standards, revalidation, and appraisal requirements
* Adhere to practice, and NHS policies and procedures
* Engage in continuing professional development
* Participate in clinical governance, significant event analysis, and safeguarding training

Experience
* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
* Be on the NHSE medical performers list
* Newly qualified GP's (ARRS GP's) will be considered as well as experienced GP's.
