Purpose of the Role The Payroll Assistant will provide high-quality and comprehensive business support services to ensure the effective delivery of payroll functions. Working within a busy exchequer team, the postholder will be responsible for supporting payroll operations, following standard processes with accuracy, and delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to prioritise workloads, and a commitment to continuous improvement and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Deliver accurate and timely business support to ensure effective operation of payroll services, including: Data entry and analysis Record keeping Responding to payroll queries Providing administrative support at payroll-related meetings Support the delivery of the monthly payroll cycle, ensuring tasks are completed within agreed deadlines. Provide high-quality customer service, resolving straightforward enquiries and escalating complex issues when required. Ensure accurate audit trails are maintained and that records are processed in line with compliance standards.
