Following the recent release of information and ARRSfunding, Wakefield North Primary Care Network (PCN) are looking to expand ourPCN team by recruiting a part-time, salaried General Practitioner who is enthusiasticand forward-thinking for a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026.
We are looking to recruit and individual who is caring,positive and self-motivated to take on this role and be able to work across thePCNs practices. Many of our practicesare experienced training practices with strong support, supervision andmentoring provision.
The post-holder will manage a caseload dealing with a widerange of health needs within a primary care setting, ensuring the higheststandards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
To be eligible to apply for the this post you will be newlyqualified (within two years beyond your certificate of completion of trainingbeing issued by the GMC) and not been substantively employed as a GP in generalpractice previously or employed in a temporary capacity as a locum.

Main duties of the job
You will have a base at Henry Moore Clinic in Castleford(which will be used for the purposes of claiming mileage) but will be requiredto work flexibly across the PCNs GP practices.
As the role requires you to commute across the PCN,applicants should hold a full driving licence, which is valid in the UK, andhold the relevant car insurance to cover travel for business purposes, alongwith access to a car.
Hours of work are 28 hours per week (part time) to be workedflexibly between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm Monday to Friday. Where you may be required to support clinicalservices outside of these hours, time off in lieu will be made available.
In accordance with the PCN/General Practice timetable, asagreed, the post-holder will make themself available to undertake a variety ofduties to include:
Surgery consultations
Telephone consultations and queries
Visiting patients at home
Checking and signing repeat prescriptions; and
Dealing with queries, paperwork, reports andcorrespondence in a timely fashion
About us
Wakefield North PCN is made up of six practices acrossCastleford, Normanton and Featherstone, four of which are registered trainingpractices. We are also part of the WestYorkshire GP Educators Programme, and our experienced Clinical Directorsinclude a GP Training Programme Director and the Wakefield Mental HealthLead. You will be part of a fantasticprimary care team of experienced GPs, nurses and advanced practitioners who canprovide you with the opportunity to learn and develop your knowledge of primarycare whilst being part of an inclusive and supportive PCN.
All practices have PCN staff working alongside them whichincludes a Pharmacy Team, Mental Health Practitioner, Paramedics, Health andWellbeing Coaches, Care Co-ordinators, Social Prescriber and a Nursing Teamproviding an outreach service to our housebound patients and those requiringsupport in other settings. All of thisoffers the successful applicant the opportunity for multi-disciplinary teamworking within each of our practices.
Your week will include personal development time andtutorials, with the monthly training sessions provided in a GP practice, acrossthe PCN or all of Wakefield.

Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree
* Full registration with GMC
* Certification of Completion of Training (JCPTGP/PMETB)
* Inclusion on Performers List
* MRCGP
* Evidence of a commitment to on-going personal & professional development
* To be eligible to apply for the ARRS GP role, candidates must not have been substantively employed as a GP in general practice previously; or
