School Receptionist - Experienced & Professional Front of House Location: Birmingham Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive - Based on Experience About the Role: Monarch Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well regarded school in Birmingham to recruit an experienced School Receptionist. This is a key front-facing role, ideal for someone who has previously worked in a school office and understands the unique demands of a busy educational environment. As the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, you'll be the friendly face of the school - ensuring a warm, professional, and efficient reception experience. Key Responsibilities: Provide a courteous and professional welcome to all visitors, parents, and pupils. Manage incoming calls, emails, and messages, ensuring prompt and accurate communication. Maintain visitor logs and issue passes in line with safeguarding procedures. Handle general administrative duties including filing, photocopying, and data entry. Update attendance records and support with pupil data management. Liaise with staff and external contacts to coordinate appointments and deliveries. Support school events and assist with logistics when needed. Ensure the reception area is tidy, organised, and reflects the school's values. Uphold confidentiality and follow school safeguarding and data protection policies. Essential Requirements: Previous school-based receptionist or administrative experience is essential. Strong communication skills - both written and verbal. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor) is highly desirable. Friendly, approachable, and professional manner. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
