Job Description
Finance Director
North Yorkshire
£130k-£150k + 20% bonus
On-site
No PE strings. No fluff. A proper job for a Finance Director who knows the numbers, and more importantly, how to use them to steer the business.
This is a £160m turnover business with Yorkshire roots, family values, not a turnaround role with bankers breathing down your neck.
It has been a bumpy few years, but the recovery’s started. Now it needs a Finance Director to drive the next phase.
Here’s what’s in it for you:
* £130k-£150k salary
* Up to 20% bonus
* Full autonomy in a respected brand
* On-site role, North Yorkshire base
* A board that actually listens, not just nods
You’ll be the person who asks "why?"You’ll challenge the board, question assumptions, and keep the numbers watertight. And make sure this business runs as lean and smart as it should.
This Finance Director job title isn’t just for show. You’ll be hands-on with stock, systems, margin and cash. It’s a complex, asset-heavy setup, so if you’ve dealt with vehicles, plant or anything with big-ticket depreciation, you’ll get it straight away.
ERP and Power BI experience would be a real bonus.
The setup:
* 13 depots across the North, so there will be an element of travel for you
* Family ownership, tied to a global manufacturer
* You’ll be replacing a respected Finance Director, leaving later this year. There are big shoes to fill, but the opportunity is there to make it your own.
What you’ll need:
* You’ve done the Finance Director role before, or perhaps a divisional FD in a larger business
* Comfortable rolling your sleeves up
* Commercial edge. You’re not just a back-office number cruncher
* Strong grip on cash, stock, margins and systems
If you want a role where your decisions actually shape the future, this one’s worth a chat. You’ll have the autonomy to do things properly. You’ll be listened to. And you'll play a big part in modernising a well-known Yorkshire business. Hard graft, but a proper Finance Director brief.
