As a Debt Recovery Lead, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Care Services business, which operates over 120 care homes across England and Wales. You’ll help us recover outstanding debts in a way that’s fair, empathetic and effective – making sure we can continue to deliver high-quality care to those who need it most.
How you will help us make health happen
In this role, you’ll:
* Lead and support debt recovery efforts across Bupa’s Care Services business.
* Develop and recommend strategies for effective debt resolution.
* Communicate with customers, relatives, and legal representatives – including those with Power of Attorney – to agree on solutions.
* Assess cases before litigation, gather evidence, and draft legal documents such as Letters Before Action.
* Liaise with external counsel and stakeholders to ensure timely progression of cases.
* Collaborate with Bupa’s in-house legal team when needed.
* Track and manage case progress, ensuring oversight and transparency.
* Work closely with operational teams to support decision-making.
* Produce reports for stakeholders on case status and outcomes.
* Help design standardised documents and processes to improve debt recovery.
Key Skills and Qualifications needed for this role
We’re looking for someone who’s:
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
* A strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills.
* Empathetic and professional when speaking with customers and families about difficult topics.
* Able to balance business needs with individual circumstances to find fair solutions.
* Self-motivated and passionate about achieving positive outcomes.
* Experienced in debt recovery (essential).
* Familiar with legal and litigation processes related to debt (desirable).
* Knowledge of the Care sector and industry (beneficial)
