At Oxford’s Department of Computer Science, we are committed to widening access and encouraging diverse talent to pursue computing. As an Outreach Officer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering engaging outreach programmes, working closely with schools, students, and community groups.
About the Role
As an Outreach Officer, you will support our Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach Manager in developing and running outreach activities that promote Computer Science. This will include organising school visits, workshops, and open days, managing and training our team of Student Ambassadors, and providing guidance to prospective applicants. You will also work with external partners and university-wide outreach initiatives to ensure a coordinated approach to widening participation.
This is a role that requires creativity, strong organisational skills, and the ability to build relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to shape the department’s outreach strategy, helping to inspire and support the next generation of computer scientists.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for someone with experience in event planning, outreach, or a related field who is passionate about education and access. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage confidently with young people, teachers, and key stakeholders. The role requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality events.
