Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen to appoint Band 5 Biomedical Scientist into our existing Cellular Pathology team. All posts will be based in our purpose built laboratory facility at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan.

We are happy to accept applications from HCPC registered BMS or from those with IBMS approved Biomedical Scientist degrees that will complete their portfolio in the next 12 months. Candidates not HCPC registered will be paid as Trainee Biomedical Scientist at annex 21 of a Band 5.

Please note the starting salary for this post does not meet the requirements to be eligible for sponsorship visa.

Main Duties of the Job

Our Cellular pathology service is continually developing with an exciting programme to deliver the latest in mechanised slide scanning technology and computational pathology. Any new scientists joining our team will be central to delivering the future of Cellular Pathology in North Wales; working together to meet the needs of the clinical service users and develop our service repertoire and structure whilst protecting and progressing service quality and effectiveness.

Successful applicants will be encouraged to develop and extend their experience in all areas of the department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified (or soon to be assessed) scientists to join this large, forward thinking laboratory service as we map out our future.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Working for our Organisation

Join Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales and be part of the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000 across North Wales.

Enjoy working with engaged leadership at all levels; we are committed to promoting equality and diversity and are proud to welcome applicants under the Disability Confident Employer scheme.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
