Job Overview
Wessex NHS Procurement Limited is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us. Please note WPL does not hold a Home Office Workers Licence and therefore unable to offer sponsorship.
As a Theatres Stock Management Officer, you will work as part of a team to provide an efficient and reliable Materials Management Service throughout the Trust by setting up and maintaining ward/department stock profiles, (including high value ‘non-stock’ items procured directly from Suppliers) to meet clinical requirements.
You will produce and analyse reports in order to recommend and persuade user departments to follow Trust initiatives such as Standardisation and Rationalisation programs. Working under own initiative, you are responsible for all aspects of the day‑to‑day Materials Management operation for specifically allocated wards/departments.
To coordinate your workload, you will undertake counts to replenish stock to previously agreed levels using bar code data capture technology. You will meet ordering and delivery deadlines for consumables for patient care to be maintained by medical staff, assess clinical requirements for urgent requests (i.e., procedural urgency/quality/price/supply route etc.) and implement effective ordering and distribution mechanisms. You will download information to the computerised materials management system.
Working for our organisation, WPL plays a vital role for the NHS in Hampshire, providing end‑to‑end procurement and supply chain services for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You’ll be part of a dynamic and like‑minded team working with stakeholders on challenging targets to drive innovation, value and efficiency from procurement and supply.
To recognise and reward your contribution, we provide a range of great staff benefits. You’ll be eligible for a generous NHS pension scheme as well as all standard NHS terms of service and annual leave. Our employee benefits platform offers you discounts on a range of items, from the weekly grocery shop and high street shopping to days out with the family and even holidays.
