The Role
At the Hospice, Housekeepers are essential in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that directly impacts the well-being and comfort of patients and their families. Your role is crucial in ensuring that every patient experiences the highest standard of care and comfort.
Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, you will maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospice. Your attention to detail and dedication will help provide a sanctuary of peace and dignity for patients and their loved ones.
Key Responsibilities
1. Room Cleaning and Maintenance:
o Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and offices according to protocols.
o Perform dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and surface cleaning to ensure hygiene.
2. Linen and Laundry Services:
o Manage linens, towels, and bedding, ensuring cleanliness and proper storage.
o Monitor inventory and assist with linen distribution.
3. Waste Management:
o Dispose of waste following policies to maintain safety and cleanliness.
4. Infection Control Practices:
o Follow infection control protocols, including PPE use and hand hygiene.
5. Assistance with Special Projects:
o Support deep cleaning and seasonal activities as needed.
6. Equipment Maintenance:
o Operate and maintain cleaning equipment properly.
7. Safety and Security:
o Report hazards and follow safety protocols.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in housekeeping or cleaning, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
* Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment is advantageous.
* Ability to work independently, prioritize, and pay attention to detail.
