Information Governance Officer - (SC Cleared) (Inside IR35)
Contract Term: Initial 6-month contract

Location: London (Hybrid working. Will be required to attend the London office)

The Defence Afghan Relocation and Resettlement (DARR) Directorate is a new organisation set up to manage the process for supporting eligible Afghans who supported the UK mission in Afghanistan over the past 20 years to come to the UK, and once here to be assisted to begin their new lives with their families. It is important and rewarding work, supporting one of Defence’s highest priorities.
In addition to leading on all relocation and resettlement policy, the Directorate is responsible for assessing the applications of Afghans who still wish to relocate to the UK, enabling the relocation of those eligible, managing Whitehall and international relationships, at the highest strategic level (including daily Ministerial interaction) and directing and cohering all the relocation and resettlement activity across the Defence enterprise.
The role
The Information Manager (IMgr) is a key member of the Data and Information Management (IM) and Exploitation Team charged with effective management and exploitation of data information within the Directorate. The role is vital in ensuring the DARR Directorate identifies and defines its information requirements and refines processes to allow the effective management and exploitation of information.
As an Information Governance Officer, your main responsibilities will be:
To advise the wider team on information related matters, drafting and delivering IM related policies.
Responsible for the maintenance of the registered files, providing MODNET / DII(F) Secret User Account Management, Hardware and Software Management, Records Management, SharePoint Administration and Support and NSoIT guidance for all NCHQ Military and Civilian Personnel
To act as the DARR Data Protection Adviser, working closely with the DARR Senior Information Officer (SIO)
To advise the wider team on information related matters, drafting and delivering IM related policies
Responsible for Records Management, SharePoint Administration and Support
To act as the DARR Data Protection Adviser, working closely with the DARR Senior Information Officer (SIO)
Essential:
Previous Information Manager or iHub experience
Active SC Clearance
Competency and understanding of data, reporting and performance management.
Process improvement and user requirements capture.
Change management and driving improvements to ways of working.
Confidence to liaise with a range of stakeholders to gather insight and establish clear requirements
Previous Data Protection Advisor experience is desirable
Previous public sector/Defence experience is desirable
