Milk Education is recruiting Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support staff to work in primary schools across South Tyneside, supporting pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support role isIdeal for:
* Psychology Graduates
* Criminology Graduates
* Counselling, Mental Health or Youth Work graduates
* Aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, Therapists or SEN Specialists
* Graduates seeking paid, practical experience in education
(Previous school experience is helpful but not essential — training can be provided.)
Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support role –Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs You’ll Support
You may work with pupils who experience:
* Anxiety and worries around school
* Low mood or emotional withdrawal
* Difficulties with emotional regulation
* Attachment and relationship needs
* Behavioural challenges linked to emotions
* Low self‑esteem and confidence
* Trauma‑related responses
* Social interaction and communication difficulties
Support is typically provided 1:1 or in small groups, helping pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom SupportRole
As a Graduate Social & Emotional Classroom Support Worker, you will:
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
* Help pupils engage with learning and routines
* Work closely with class teachers and SEN teams
* Contribute to a calm, nurturing classroom environment
