Whether it’s assessing liability, preventing fraud, or supporting customers through challenging situations, the LCI team plays a vital role in protecting our clients and maintaining NFU Mutual’s reputation for outstanding service. As a Claims Apprentice, you will play an important role in supporting our LCI clients by investigating and processing claims. You’ll apply sound judgement to help prevent loss and fraud, ensuring fair outcomes and delivering excellent customer service. Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll be immersed in a variety of work placements that will give you a broad understanding of the business. These placements are designed to help you build technical knowledge, develop core professional skills, and contribute meaningfully to team objectives. This journey is designed to build your skills, confidence, and career in insurance. As part of the scheme, you’ll gain a recognised insurance qualification (Cert CII) and complete a structured development programme designed to set you up for success. What you can expectIn your first few weeks, you’ll focus on learning the ropes – getting to know the NFU Mutual processes and LCI team ways of working, getting to know your future team leader and understanding the type of work you’ll be getting involved with. As your confidence grows, you’ll start to get more hands-on– shadowing the current team members to get a real insight in what it’s like to manage claims. You’ll work closely with a dedicated trainer who will work with you to grow your skills in liaising with customers, how to effectively use our systems and achieving the key milestones in your development. You’ll also complete the Certificate in Insurance as part of the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship. As you progress, you’ll develop specific regulatory and technical knowledge that will enable you to contribute effectively to your placement area. You’ll also gain hands-on experience in assessing and evaluating claims, appointing suppliers and experts where needed, and keeping all relevant parties informed while maintaining high customer service standards. During your training which can be up to 18 months, you’ll spend more time in the office to help you settle in. Following this, further hybrid working options will be available to you. One day a week, you’ll have protected time to work on your apprenticeship, and you can do this from home. You’ll be joining a close-knit, friendly team who really look out for one another – many of whom started in the same way. Application process We keep things simple and supportive. First, you'll complete a brief online application form.
