Job Description
New Directions work with the biggest schools across Rhondda Cynon Taf and are currently recruiting Student Teachers to begin work on a supply basis.
Supply work is ideal for those wanting to experience different schools, for those wanting to retain flexibility whilst still studying and for those wanting to sharpen their skills before embarking on a more permanent placement.
As a Student Teacher you will be expected to :
1. Teach all areas of the school curriculum
2. Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
3. Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
4. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
5. Maintain discipline
6. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
7. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
8. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
9. Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
