The role

We are seeking to appoint for a Band 3 Admin / Business Support role within the Corporate Services team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week) based on-site at Royal Preston Hospital, Preston. The post holder is required to work on-site at least 3 days per week. Job ref 438-PB4417.

Job overview

Join Our Corporate Services Team! Are you the kind of person who thrives on keeping things organised, running smoothly, and one step ahead? Do you love being at the heart of a busy team where no two days are the same? We are looking for a confident, proactive and highly organised Admin Support Officer to support our Corporate Services Department and to play a key role in keeping things ticking behind the scenes of our Corporate Affairs Directorate.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be the go-to person for all things admin – keeping diaries on track, coordinating busy meeting schedules, and ensuring everything is in place for smooth operational delivery. From organising meetings to supporting senior teams, you’ll be right at the centre of the action.

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Self-starter who uses initiative to solve problems and keep things moving
  • Flexible and adaptable team player who can respond to changing demands
  • Professional approach with a keen eye for detail and pride in delivering high-quality work

Why join us? You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team where your contribution genuinely makes a difference. If you enjoy variety, responsibility and being the person people rely on to keep things running smoothly, this role is for you.

Main duties of the job

You’ll play a central role in keeping the Corporate Affairs function running smoothly, acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of queries from staff, patients, visitors and senior stakeholders. You will respond to calls, manage enquiries and support the resolution of concerns to ensure a professional, responsive and customer-focused service at all times.

You’ll provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Corporate Affairs Team, Chair and Director – managing busy diaries, coordinating meetings and handling correspondence with efficiency and discretion. From preparing high-quality documents and presentations to maintaining effective administrative systems and chasing key actions, you’ll keep information flowing and priorities on track. You’ll also support meetings, welcome visitors, organise logistics and assist colleagues as needed, bringing a proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
