About the Role:
Teach engaging and well-structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching available for suitable candidates)
Inspire students to think critically, express creatively, and develop a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing
Contribute to an inclusive and forward-thinking English curriculum
Use effective assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress
Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment where all students feel supported and motivated
Get involved in wider school life through extracurricular activities like reading clubs, creative writing workshops, or school performances
Work collaboratively within a supportive department to share best practices and promote excellence
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), or be working towards gaining QTS
A degree in English Language, English Literature, or a closely related subject
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to bring literature and language to life in the classroom
A passion for teaching and the ability to motivate students of varying abilities and backgrounds
Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
A proactive, reflective approach and a genuine commitment to continuous professional growth
