Job Description:
1. The Lab Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of a dedicated Android testing laboratory.
2. This involves managing device inventory, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining device software, and ensuring the lab environment is organized.
3. Support the satellite labs which include support and maintenance of test systems (computers, test equipment in lab)
4. Device preparation and shipping of devices
5. Android understanding is a must
Responsibilities:
Device Shipments
6. Receive devices, track shipments
7. Maintain and track a comprehensive inventory of lab equipment.
Development work
8. Check Sanity & functionality of shipped devices
9. Update the devices with latest builds, troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning devices.
10. Software updates to devices
11. Issue reporting, triaging, tracking and coordinating with the team.
Device Health
12. Track daily status of device uptime and involve in upkeeping of test beds
13. Ensure stakeholders are adequately informed of System downtime, power issues
14. Interact with Google REWS for Lab maintenance and Audits Skills needed:
15. Work experience with Embedded systems/Knowledge of bootloaders, flashing system software
16. Familiar with the linux environment and hands on using basic commands.
17. Experience with flashing devices, installing custom ROMs, and using debugging tools (e.g., ADB).
18. Basic network troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
19. Proficient in IT support tasks like software installation and troubleshooting.
20. Any programming skill (preferred with python).
21. Familiar with safe handling of embedded devices.
Desired experience:
22. 3+ years of lab support role or related field.
23. Experience working in an android lab environment.
