Indie College is a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that delivers nationally recognised training.

Indie College supports young people and adults to re-engage back into education, especially those who may have disengaged or are impacted by personal or health circumstances. We explore individual goals related to pathways back into school, employment, or further accredited training, while assisting in developing Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills and building confidence.

Indie College Southport is seeking a full-time Lead Trainer and Assessor (Lead Coach) to deliver alternative Education Programs in the Southport area.

All Trainers and Assessors must hold a current Australian Driver’s License, possess qualifications equal to or above those being delivered, and hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) including LLN units.

Core Workplace Objectives

* Manage the day-to-day operations of the Indie College site(s).
* Support and mentor students in small groups of up to 10.
* Understand RTO standards, Training Packages, and requirements of ASQA and VET funding bodies.
* Demonstrate current industry skills relevant to the training being delivered.

Workplace Tasks & Key Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
* Promote and recruit suitable students.
* Manage and support Coaches, leading by example.
* Develop program delivery content creatively and technically.
* Conduct learner enrollment interviews, Pre-ACER testing, and related paperwork.
* Match learners with Coaches and organize small groups.
* Complete aXcelerate data entry as required.
* Perform spot check audits and coach critiques monthly.
* Achieve monthly enrollment targets.
* Maintain updated Trainer and Student lists, and plan for program completions or withdrawals.
* Monitor reports on attendance, overdue outcomes, and fees.
* Audit completed files promptly.
* Manage Coach expenses and resources efficiently.
* Foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
* Attend meetings, produce reports, and support team communication.
* Adhere to WH&S policies and procedures.
* Assist leadership with additional duties as needed.

Applicant Requirements

* Experience in vocational education, familiar with AQTF and NVR Standards.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and develop plans.
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
* Highly organized with attention to detail.
* Experience working with youth is preferred.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills.

Hours of Work

* Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:36 pm
