Position: Network Engineer Location: Home/Office/Customer Premises Salary: £50-£65K My client is a modern managed services provider delivering integrated IT and communications solutions and is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join their team. The Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing, and managing network infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in networking technologies, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully leading network projects. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain our organization's computer network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks. Evaluate and recommend network technologies and solutions to improve performance, reliability, and security. Work within a team of network engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to internal and external customers as needed. Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of network systems with other technologies and applications. Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration settings, and operating procedures. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, identifying and resolving problems promptly for our Managed Service Clients. Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorised access, data breaches, and other security threats. Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Stay up-to-date on emerging network technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for their adoption as appropriate. Qualifications: 5 years of experience in implementing, and managing enterprise-level computer networks. Strong skills in LAN and Wifi preferred Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SD Wan routing, and switching. Hands-on experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points from leading vendors (HP, Alcatel, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.). Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to resolving complex network issues. Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark). Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network) preferred.
