Technical Sales Manager – Metro Rod
Metro Rod is a fast‑growing provider of drainage and maintenance services across the UK. We are seeking a motivated Technical Sales Manager to support our franchisees and sales team in driving profitable drainage projects.
What you will do
* Support franchisees and the sales team in scoping, pricing, winning and executing drainage projects.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring every project meets and exceeds expectations.
* Assist in developing opportunities, driving business growth via technical expertise and understanding of the UK water industry.
* Travel across the UK (approximately 3 days per week) and to the support centre in Macclesfield.
Key experience & qualifications
* Outstanding background in drainage operations (survey, maintenance, rehabilitation, pumping systems, treatment plants).
* Experience in sales support, project scoping or technical consultancy is preferred.
* Ability to run projects end‑to‑end, from client scoping to delivery.
* Hands‑on approach, willing to get involved practically where needed.
* Knowledge of health & safety, compliance standards and drainage law.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
* Proactive, enthusiastic and solutions‑focused.
Preferred qualifications
* IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS, or similar.
* Hands‑on training in patch repairs and full‑length liner installs.
* Experience in confined spaces (Medium Risk) and OS19X.
* Knowledge of plumbing work.
Salary & benefits
* Salary up to £48,000 DOE + commission.
