Role: Head of Technical

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Technical to join their team in Bala.
The Role:
* Define and put into practice the site's adherence to legal, food safety, and quality standards.
* Take the lead in promoting food safety and quality, ensuring that BRCGS, customer, and other site standards are followed, and that continuous improvement is ensured.
* Serve as the primary liaison for technical customer visits and audits, demonstrating active involvement in the factory and possessing a coaching and motivating style.
* Provide team training and development, completion of annual appraisals, and support where required.
* Drive audit-ready daily standards in the factory environment and documentation, ensuring retailer and third-party standards are fulfilled and maintained throughout the site.
* Implement and manage the system including completion and review of procedures, paperwork, and spreadsheets.
* Be the main point of contact for all retailer management, including in-person meetings, reviews, and problems, as well as assistance with managing retailer systems and updates.
The Candidate:
* Experience of working with major supermarkets is essential.
* Previous experience within Technical in the food sector.
* Previous management experience within a technical team.
* Degree level or similar in food science.
* HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4.
* Auditor training.
* Knowledge of retailer systems and codes of practice.
* BRC Lead Audit trained.
