The Governing Body are keen to appoint an inspiring and motivated Second in Science who is passionate about their subject and committed to nurturing the scientific curiosity, critical thinking and academic development of all learners.
The successful candidate will primarily support the leadership and delivery of Science across the department, while also teaching their specialist discipline to a high standard. There will be opportunities to contribute more broadly to the STEM curriculum depending on experience and expertise. You will be enthusiastic about Science, able to bring concepts in biology, chemistry and physics to life in the classroom, and dedicated to supporting pupils to think analytically, question confidently and develop as informed, responsible young scientists within a caring, Christian community.
We are looking for someone who:
1. Is an excellent Science practitioner — with high expectations for all learners.
2. Supports our Catholic ethos — and the spiritual and moral development of pupils.
3. Delivers engaging Science lessons — across Key Stages with clarity and enthusiasm.
4. Works collaboratively — contributing positively to a supportive department.
5. Is committed to safeguarding and wellbeing — ensuring pupils’ holistic development.
6. Communicates and organises effectively — supporting both teaching and leadership duties.
