Role: Application Support Senior Analyst

Salary: £38,169 – £43,668

Contract Type: Temporary until 31st March 2027
Key Responsibilities
* Perform all specialist aspects of application support to enable ongoing support and maintenance for a range of critical applications, systems and platforms across both forces.
* Supervise Application Support Analysts in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring the best possible support is provided across South Yorkshire and Humberside Police.
* Assist the Team Leader to achieve the performance standards set for the team and individuals.
* Provide support to the IS Team Leader in order to meet departmental and force objectives.
* Identify and implement improvements to current IT support processes for both forces.
* Ensure pro‑active monitoring of all applications and initiate remedial action when required.
* Work closely with all IT teams to ensure an excellent service.
* Promote incident, problem and change management procedures and highlight ways to improve service delivery.
* Assist in the development, installation and integration of system changes or upgrades, liaising with project management, third‑party suppliers, technical teams and system users.
* Mentor and support Application Support Analysts with new and complex workloads as required.
* Stay current with new system and application changes and updates.
* May be required to work outside normal hours and travel around and outside of the force area.
Skills and Experience
* Previous supervisory experience.
* Degree and/or significant experience working in Information Technology.
* Strong understanding of Systems Administration.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Experience resolving problems at an organisational level.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure, consistent in approach to daily tasks and committed to customer service.

Eligibility
