Overview
Putlands Veterinary Surgery is a mixed vet practice located in Paddock Wood, Kent. Putlands take pride in serving the community by treating pets, farm animals and equine, and by providing the highest standard of veterinary care to all. Through the variety of patients, they offer an opportunity for the nursing team to develop an extensive list of skills and qualifications and to explore interests.
Role
We are looking for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to lead our close‑knit, passionate team for 40 hours per week. Hours are between Monday to Friday, 8:00–19:00, with Saturday 8:00–12:00. We can offer flexibility on days, but to include 2 in 7 Saturdays with time back in lieu. This is a fixed‑term position covering maternity starting in August 2025 for 12 months.
We would welcome someone who is innovative with what our nursing team can offer and who can develop them further. Ideally, you will have either a further clinical qualification or management experience to guide the team forwards and raise the practice further. We support further development. We are a nurse training practice, so we would need someone who would be happy to be a clinical coach for SVNs (training provided if needed).

To be considered
* RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
* Proven GP skills and surgery experience
* Eagerness to learn and develop
* Clinical coaching experience or interest preferred
* Strong focus on exceptional patient care
* Team player with excellent communication skills
* Self-motivated and able to motivate others
* Positive, enthusiastic approach to tasks
* Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills
* Ability to handle difficult situations with tact
* Ability to balance study and work
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
