About the Role
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a specialist behavioural unit in Chester-le-Street to recruit a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant on a supply basis across the summer term, with the possibility of continuing into September.
This role is ideal for a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a structured and nurturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Support KS2 pupils within a behavioural or alternative provision setting
* Work closely with the class teacher and support staff to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning and behaviour plans
* Help pupils engage positively with learning and develop emotional regulation skills
* Create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment
Key Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in KS2
* Experience supporting pupils with behavioural needs (SEMH) is highly desirable
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
