Job Title: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Derby
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are recruiting a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a caring and inclusive school in Derby. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of pupils who need extra guidance, structure, and encouragement to thrive in their education.
Role Responsibilities:
* Support students with behavioural, social, or emotional difficulties on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement using tailored strategies.
* Work closely with teaching staff to implement behaviour plans and manage classroom dynamics.
* Provide a consistent, nurturing approach to help students build confidence and resilience.
* Monitor progress and report observations to the SENCO and wider team.
* Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
Job Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (SEMH).
* Strong communication, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills.
* A calm, patient, and empathetic manner.
* Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
* Relevant training or qualifications in behaviour management (desirable).
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
