Overview
This full‑time role is based permanently on site at our Science Campus in South Mimms, Hertfordshire. The post holder will lead a multi‑disciplinary team responsible for the effective delivery of Engineering and Maintenance Projects for the South Mimms Site.
Responsibilities
* Provide clear and focused leadership for the Project and Programme Team to deliver the South Mimms Site Capital Maintenance and Decarbonisation Programmes in line with the Agency Delivery plan.
* Work with the Head of Engineering and stakeholders to develop the short and medium term capital replacement programme for South Mimms Site Plant and Equipment and ensure facilities meet statutory compliance, HSE requirements and scientific obligations.
* Initiate, manage and deliver projects across South Mimms Site and wider Agency, ensuring clear communication and contract management within a matrix management structure on time and to budget.
* Be part of the ILS SLT, manage the Project and Programmes Team and other formal management tasks.
* Prepare a presentation as part of the interview and respond to interview questions based on Behaviour, Experience, Technical and Strengths Success Profiles.

Qualifications & Experience
* Extensive experience leading complex Engineering projects, ideally Air Handling, Steam Distribution Systems and containment of Clean room Laboratories.
* Expert knowledge and extensive experience in leading and managing engineering projects to ensure compliance with Facility Statutory Obligations (PSSR, LOELR, ACDP).
* Relevant technical/engineering degree or extensive experience in leadership and management of complex facilities and estates.
* Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills, credibility and ability to build excellent relationships and networks with key stakeholders across organisational boundaries.
* Strong and inclusive corporate and team leadership, experience in managing engineering and scientific staff, confident in people leadership and strategy development.
* Stakeholder management and engagement: systematic identification, analysis and communication with stakeholders, using appropriate channels.
* Project Leadership and Governance: RAID logs, report writing and presentation skills.

* Salary of £75,585.
