Job description
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Curriculum for Wales (as applicable).
2. Use Welsh confidently with children throughout the day to encourage bilingual language development.
3. Assist with the supervision, care, and wellbeing of children aged 0-5.
4. Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and educational development.
5. Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
6. Help with daily routines including meals, toileting, nappy changing, rest time, and outdoor play.
7. Observe and record children’s progress and share information with colleagues and parents/carers when required.
8. Work collaboratively with nursery staff to support the smooth running of the setting.
9. Build positive relationships with parents and carers, promoting open communication.
10. Assist with setting up and tidying away activities, resources, and equipment.
Essential Criteria
11. Ability to speak Welsh fluently or at a high conversational level.
12. Experience working with young children (professional or voluntary).
13. A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
14. Basic understanding of child development and safeguarding.
15. Good communication and teamwork skills.
16. Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
