Are you a Process Engineer ready to lead vacuum deposition development and scale-up for next-generation solar technology?
On offer is the opportunity to drive thin-film deposition processes on high-speed roll-to-roll systems, optimize and scale solar modules and contribute directly to the growth of a cutting-edge renewable energy company.
This company is a US-based deep-tech solar start-up scaling breakthrough photovoltaic technology. They are pioneering high-efficiency solar materials using roll-to-roll manufacturing and perovskites, aiming to redefine solar panel production and accelerate the energy transition. With a clear growth this is a chance to make a direct impact and grow alongside the company.
On offer is a high-impact technical role. You will operate, maintain, and optimize vacuum deposition equipment, develop and document robust thin-film processes, analyze film quality and metrology data, and support pilot-to-full-scale manufacturing transitions. You'll have the chance to showcase your technical expertise, influence process strategies, and help build out the engineering function as the company scales.
This role would suit a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer looking to take ownership of vacuum deposition processes, work on breakthrough solar technology, and contribute to real-world renewable energy solutions.
The Role:
1. Support development and scale-up of perovskite solar modules using high-speed roll-to-roll sputtering systems
2. Develop, optimize, and document thin-film deposition processes on polymer substrates
3. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot vacuum coating equipment, ensuring uptime and reliability
4. Collaborate cross-functionally to transition processes from pilot to full-scale manufacturing
The Candidate:
5. Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
6. Strong understanding of thin-film physics, plasma processes, and vacuum technology
7. Experience with FMEA, high-volume manufacturing, or roll-to-roll thin film manufacturing preferred
