About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Tiler to join our responsive repairs and maintenance team, working across social occupied and void properties. This hands‑on role involves carrying out high‑quality wall and floor tiling in bathrooms and kitchens, supporting minor plastering and making‑good works. Working across both occupied and void properties, you’ll take pride in workmanship, deliver a right‑first‑time approach, and provide a professional service when working in residents’ homes. The role ensures homes are safe, functional and finished to a high standard.
Duties
- Carry out wall and floor tiling in bathrooms and kitchens, including full installations and repairs.
- Prepare surfaces prior to tiling, ensuring they are clean, level and ready for application.
- Cut and fit tiles to required sizes and layouts, ensuring a high‑quality finish.
- Complete grouting, sealing and finishing works to a professional standard.
- Undertake minor plastering and patch repairs, making good walls and surfaces before and after tiling works.
- Remove and replace damaged or defective tiles as part of responsive repairs.
- Work across occupied and void social housing properties, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Accurately record completed work, materials used and any follow‑on works required.
- Identify and report any additional repairs, maintenance issues or safeguarding concerns.
- Deliver excellent customer service, working respectfully and professionally in residents’ homes.
- Ensure all works are completed in line with health and safety regulations and company standards.
Key Criteria
- Previous experience in wall and floor tiling, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms.
- Experience carrying out minor plastering and making‑good works.
- Experience in the duties listed above.
- Ability to work independently and complete jobs to a high standard.
- IT literate, with experience using handheld devices or PDA systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
