Overview
Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker? The Dorset HealthCare Liaison Psychiatry service are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Liaison Psychiatry Practitioner to join their well-established supportive team.
This post is a full-time role; part-time applications can be considered. The service operates 24/7 with shift patterns that include weekends, nights, and public holidays. Weekend and public holidays are paid at enhanced rates.
Responsibilities
As a Practitioner you will:
* Assess patients referred from a variety of sources including the Emergency Department and hospital wards.
* Work with patients presenting with mental health problems, self harm, or a psychiatric crisis.
* Care for patients with psychosomatic disorders and a range of psychological issues related to physical disorders.
* Demonstrate confidence in risk assessment and a clear understanding of the legislation, policies and guidance underpinning clinical practice.
* Work autonomously with skills in crisis management and assessment.
* Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, acute hospital colleagues, other mental health services and external supporting agencies.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Clinical skills and experience in crisis management and assessment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Eligible to work in the UK (note: this post excludes sponsorship for Skilled Worker visa applicants).
* Employment in this post requires an Enhanced/Standard DBS check, which the Trust will cover.
