JOB TITLE: Yard Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Site Services

MAIN PURPOSE:

Contract Management and Management of the Yard

1. Communicate and interface with all levels of the organisation and external organisations/individuals

2. Direct responsibility for team of Cleaners, ensuring team is motivated, well managed and meeting standards required.

3. Manage and respond to information requests from other departments and obtaining information from other departments or internal systems to collate reports.

4. Manage all contracted engineering maintenance for Newbury through CMMS

5. Liaise with Engineers to track progress of stores requisitions.

6. Provide organisational and administrative support to the Operations Director and further support to the Operations Team (including Health and Safety, site services and engineering) by ensuring the administrative processes of the department are streamlined and effective, encouraging profitability by maintaining a high level of attention to detail and understanding.

7. Co-ordinate departments within the Operations Team in terms of contracts and purchasing and ensuring all relevant personnel across the business are available for team meetings, all meeting materials are prepared and available as requested, minutes are minuted and summary notes distributed.

STAKEHOLDERS

1. Negotiate supplier contract agreements and implementing cost effective solutions.

2. Analyse and identify supplier trends to determine corrective action plans which may result in sourcing new vendors.

3. Responsible for all purchasing functions relating to the procurement of goods, materials and services including source selection, negotiation, order placement and follow up.

4. Manage order changes with suppliers to avoid costs and delays.

ADMIN

1. Diary Management

2. Make travel arrangements including accommodation and flights

3. Maintaining confidential files, records and information as required.

4. Maintain internal engineering database and records of assets in terms of machinery on site, fulfilling legal and operational requirements for data storage and retention.

5. Active involvement with Capex projects from negotiation through to completion and co-ordinating relevant departments accordingly as required.

6. Monitor purchase price variances and resolve any issues.

7. Ensure cost codes are correctly allocated to orders.

HEALTH & SAFETY

1. Maintain standards of health and safety and compliance to all appropriate legislation, hygiene, and security in the work environment

2. Highlight and report any hazards, near misses and accidents

3. Works and challenges others to work in a safe and responsible manner

4. Health and Safety Secretary, including setting agendas, book meetings, minute meetings and distribute minutes accurately and timely.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £36,000.00 per year
