We’re looking for a motivated and supportive Functional Skills Tutor to deliver 1:1, face-to-face tuition in Maths and English to learners in the NE8 area. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping students develop essential, real-life skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

Your Role
You’ll be working closely with learners to break down barriers to education and support their progress in Functional Skills.
* Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Maths and/or English
* Adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs and abilities
* Focus on practical, real-world applications of learning
* Build confidence, independence, and engagement
* Monitor progress and provide feedback

What You Bring
* Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English
* Understanding of Functional Skills curriculum (Entry Level–Level 2)
* Experience working with young people or vulnerable learners
* A patient, flexible, and encouraging approach
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
* Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
