About Our Client
This role is with a small-sized retail organisation operating in Birmingham. Known for its strong presence in the market, the company focuses on delivering quality products and excellent service.
Responsibilities
* Raising sales invoices and credit notes
* Allocating receipts to the invoices raised
* Reconciliation of sales ledger accounts
* Reconciliation of expenses
* Management and reconciliation of petty cash
* Posting cash book receipts
* Cashbook reconciliation
* Purchase Ledger support
* Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with policies
* Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
* Respond to internal and external financial queries in a timely manner
* Ensure confidentiality and security of financial data at all times
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Assistant should have:
* Experience working in a similar role
* Proficiency in financial software
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables)
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
* Good communication skills for liaising with colleagues and external partners
* A proactive approach to identifying and solving financial issues
* Enthusiasm and strong desire to improve processes and results driven focus
* Pegasus Opera desirable
