Key Responsibilities
• Underwriting Excellence
• Assess, price, and underwrite mid‑market risks across Property & Casualty and specialty lines.
• Apply sound judgment to ensure risk selection aligns with company appetite and profitability targets.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers to secure sustainable business.
• Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Business Development
• Build and strengthen relationships with brokers and clients to drive new business opportunities.
• Identify growth areas within the mid‑market segment and contribute to product development initiatives.
• Represent the company at industry events, broker meetings, and market forums.
• Collaborate with sales and distribution teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Portfolio Management
• Monitor and manage the performance of the mid‑market book of business.
• Analyse trends, loss ratios, and market dynamics to inform underwriting strategy.
• Contribute to planning and forecasting for the segment.
• Leadership & Mentoring
• Support junior underwriters through coaching and technical guidance.

Qualifications & Experience
• Significant underwriting experience in the mid‑market segment, ideally across P&C and related lines.
• Strong track record of profitable risk selection and portfolio growth.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain broker relationships.
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior underwriters.
• Professional qualifications (e.g., ACII or equivalent) preferred.
